Mojo Monday 344 Contest

Hello again!  This card was made for the Mojo Monday 344 Contest.  It was such a fun card to make!

Here's the sketch:

And here is my card:

The stamps are from The Stamps of Life flipflops2stamp set.  Such a fun set!!  I also used the coordinating die set.  The clouds are a Stampin Up folder and I used Coastal Cabana and Pool Party papers for the clouds and waves.

Thanks Julee Tilman and Verve Stamps for a great, fun sketch and a chance to win some awesome stamps!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Have a day full of blessings!!

My mojo is a little slow

Hi all!  I started working on my Mojo Monday #339 sketch tall & skinny card on Monday--and it finally came together late last night.  The papers are from a birthday variety paper pack I picked up years ago.  The stamps are a hodge podge too:  The oval stamp & frame die are Doodlebug Designs, the candle & die are The Stamps of Life--spinner2stamp, the cupcake and wish big are Stampin Up--Carry On and Pennant Parade, the ribbon tag is Provo Craft and the sentiment is from Fiskars All Year Greeting set.

I was going to make a traditional folding card but once I added the ribbon I decided to make it a gift card holder.  The scallop is 1 1/4" SU punch and the present and Happy Birthday are from the spinner2stamp set as well.

Now I have to go stick it in the mail for my niece who's 14 on Friday!

Thanks for checking out my blog!  Have a wonderful day!

Getting back in the swing of things?!?

Oh, it has been too long since I have posted anything.  Life has been so busy--I have had another daughter since my last post!  I was very inspired by the MOJO Monday sketch challenge 338 and I just had to take the plunge and participate.  Here's my creation:

I am working on cards to give my sister who is an oncology nurse so she can use them with her patients.  I used Stampin Up! dsp and crumb cake papers, as well as Midnight Muse and Riding Hood Red inks.  The stamp set is Verve Stamps Strong Anchor set with matching dies.  I love it--it is so versatile.  I used a brayer to apply the inks to create the sailing flags and SU banner punch.  I cut the circles with Spellbinders.

Thanks for inspiring me and thanks for checking out my blog!

When I originally posted this I forgot to mention that I printed out "Discover your Strength" from my computer using My Digital Studio from SU.  It is amazing and completely customizable!!  This was my first time using it and I think I will make use of it very often in the future.

Thank you, OWH, for the Blog Hop Prize

Thank you SO much, Sandy, for this prize.  I am totally in love with My Mind's Eye and I am eager to make some cards with these great embellishments & papers.  It is so generous of you!  I have been very focused on fall cards, but there are so many pretty Christmas papers in here that I'm going to have to switch gears.  Thanks again for a fun, inspirational blog hop and for these gifts.

Here's the original blog hop in case you'd like to see some beautiful clean and simple cards:

Weathering the storm(s)

Hurricane Irene is blowing through.  So far we've had lots of rain, some pretty good winds and flickering lights.  My father in law is without power just two miles away though...Hopefully this is as bad as we'll get it.  I'm not sure, I haven't been watching the news at all.  I have been nursing a sick family for over a week!  I thought I had already gotten sick with the rest of the family--but then I had a fever last night.  I do feel much better today, no fever just a bit of a cough & sore throat.  Again HOPEFULLY as bad as it gets.

I saw a challenge on OWH's blog and decided to give it a try.
I have never done a challenge before, but I think I got the hang of it.  This is what emerged:
I scanned this because my camera battery is dead.  I am not sure I love it.  For some reason I missed the line in the challenge that said this would be great for a large image until after I finished it.  I think that's what bugs me about this card--there's no real focal point.  I originally had a raffia bow, but the tan of the raffia and the cream of the background clashed.  I found this organza ribbon in some old fall decorations I have.  I don't think it comes through on the photo, but it has an orange sheen to it, too.  The background leaf paper is the flip-side of the sentiment paper which is by Moxie: Fall Frolic/Scarecrow.  I used a Wordsworth stamp & EK Success acorn punch.

I LOVE FALL!!!  And my shipper needs some general fall cards, so I'm going to crank out as many as I can in the next 3 days.  I'd love any feedback on how this can be better.  Thanks for stopping by!!

God Bless Olivia

I do not know this little girl-or any of the people involved.  I was visiting the blog Infinite Possibilities and learned about a card drive for Olivia.  Please go here for more information. I can not imagine what it is like to face something like this.  I am thankful that Olivia's surgery went well and I pray she recovers quickly and completely.  Here's the card the kids & I made for her. Hope it brightens her day!

The ocean is K & Company Citronella Waves Glitter Thermography Paper.  The whale is Best Occasions Pearlescent Paper. The font (I hate to say...) is called Fart Bubble which I downloaded from FontSpace.  What a naughty name for such a cute font!

Inside: the little fish are fingerprints.

I'm making her a lined envelope too.  I really wish her all the best!
Thanks for stopping by!
